A poetess, not a single word of whose appeared hollow; rather whose rich dreams embroidered in rainbow colours, reflected a mind that felt the deep anguish of her country and its people. She was a great freedom fighter who bore the brunt of foreign atrocities stoically, despite being sensitive and soft. She personified a great administrator, who silenced the critics of women by administering the largest state in India, Uttar Pradesh, effectively and successfully as its first Governor. While at the same time she presented to the world an example of the power in women. This is how we remember Sarojini Naidu.
